Introduction
This course covers a wide range of valuation matrices used in the financial services industry. Intrinsic Value or the true value of the company is an abstract figure that every investor wants to identify. However, traditional valuation matrices constrain the limits of justifying the valuation of new-age companies due to a lack of profitability in the near term. Similarly, age-old good-quality companies seem to be overvalued at every phase of the stock market cycle (basically boom or recession). This course blends the qualitative and quantitative methodologies that will not only help you identify the correct price to buy a stock but also help you avoid some of the value traps. The excel sheet used in the course will be shared with data sources that are freely available. The course however tries to make the valuation methodology practical and not excel-driven so that students understand the value drivers and are not misled by price actions.
